NPR Christmas Market Trip

German Christmas markets have there own unique atmosphere numerous brightly lit and decorated wooden stalls offer an array of Christmas gifts, from wooden carvings to ornate Christmas baubles, and there are quality hand crafted foods along with the regional tasty treats and specialities.

Why don't you treat yourself and join the NPR Members on this well worth it weekend.

In order for this trip to occur we need a minimum of 25 Guests.

The cost is £244 per person.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Day 1

An early morning departure Approx 6am to Dover where we catch a late morning Ferry to Calais. We continue through France into Belgium and on to our Hotel in Leige.

 

 

 

 

 

Day 2

Today we visit two markets, first Aachen where you have time to enjoy the Christmas market huddled around the Cathedral, next to the parking area is the Lindt chocolate factory which is always worth a visit.

Mid afternoon we continue on to Valkenburg where you can visit the markets in the caves with time then to have an evening meal at one of the numerous restaurants in the town before we return to the Hotel.

 

 

 

 

 

Day 3

Monschau is our first destination today, nested in the wooded valley in the Eiffel region, the town is worth a visit any time of the year but especially when it's Christmas market time.

Mid Afternoon we call into the centre of Liege for yet another market before continuing to the Hotel

 

 

 

 

 

Day4

We depart the Hotel after breakfast and make our way to Calais for an afternoon ferry to dover and then continue homewards arriving approx 8pm.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Some further details :

· Hotel is actually Ibis Liege Seraing (not in town centre)

· Minimum numbers are 25 but max would be 30 for now (if we had more than 30 the company would have to look into whether a bigger coach was available)

· Single supplement is £70

· Travel insurance is required (ok if you have your own or is available from company at £29.60)

· Deposit is £50 per person and balance would be due by 27 October (if we don’t have minimum numbers by then it may be cancelled)

· To book you need to contact Welsh’s Coaches office on 01977 643873 and you can pay your deposit over phone using a card. Just quote ‘Nigel’s Christmas Market Trip on 8th December’)

· Departure is at Welsh’s Coaches yard WF9 1BH (and Leicester Forrest East Services if John & Sue go). If anyone wants to travel down the night before there are a few rooms available at the pub around the corner (Upton Arms. Contact them direct on 01977 650495 as apparently is cheaper than going through Booking.com). Other than that there’s the Doncaster Travelodge on the A1 and a Premier Inn in Castleford about 15-20 mins away.
